Kare,

Thanks for your feedback. As soon as I received Jim's email, I knew he was right and that I could improve what I had written.

I also like the description of your training exercise. I imagine that it would create a powerful learning moment. I'm always on the lookout for new and better ways to illustrate key points. Thanks for sharing yours.

By the way, I'm really enjoying your blog (http://www.movingfrommetowe.com/).

Guy Harris

Great improvement, Jim clearly knows your character as well as content. it resonates more with me.

Somewhat relatedly, In my talks on conflict resolution I'd ask the audience to grab something solid near them (preferably not the person in the adjacent seat unless they knew that person well) and hold on tight. I'd then say,
• imagine that what you are holding is vibrating.
• now, imagine that the vibrating entity is the object of your irritation or nger
• and now imagine that, as you get upset, you think about being upset... then you will hold on more tightly - and you too, will vibrate.

Let go. Figuratively step back even for 5 seconds (a long time when upset).
Goal: Do not let somebody else determine your behavior.
